Concord Church's response to the Covid-19 Emergency
Many of you have concerns regarding the Coronavirus called COVID-19. We want to share with you what steps and actions are being taken with regard to Sunday services as well as the various meetings and activities here at Concord.
As of today (3/16/2020) we have made the difficult decision to move to an online format for Sunday morning worship for Sunday, March 22nd. A smaill group of staff and volunteers will participate in the 8:30am Sanctuary and 11am Celebration services which will be made available via the the church’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/concordumc. Recordings of the message portions of our services will still be available to download here.
Several meetings and regular activities are scheduled to meet at church facilities over the next few weeks. Those gatherings are being held or cancelled at the discretion of those directly in charge of the groups. We will do our best to keep an up to date list available on the website. (If you are intend to cancel an activity, please let the church office know.) For any gatherings that are held, we encourage you to follow adequate steps to ensure the health and well-being of all. If you are elderly or at high risk for infection, we strongly encourage you to stay at home.
Please plan to join us online, and remember to continue to give to the mission of Concord Church. Online giving is available for you on the church’s website, or you may use the mail to send your tithes and offerings. If you have questions about the process of setting up your online giving acount, please watch this quick video.
As you and your family navigate this unexpected season, please remember the following:
1. This is not a time to be fearful. Our God is still in control and this current situation does not diminish His power. Pray and seek God in the midst of this for calm and wisdom.
2. Our facility is cleaned regularly and well. We are taking additional steps to minimize the spread of the virus on commonly used surfaces..
3. We urge you to practice social distancing. Greet each other in love with words and a smile. Extend grace to one another and keep in mind social distancing is not a reason to be rude.
4. Wash your hands regularly. This is considered one of the best ways to limit the spread of the virus.
This is new territory for all of us. Please be patient with us, and check the church website and our Facebook page regularly for any changes. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance during this season, please reach out to us. Mostly, let us pray for our church, our community and our world as we weather this storm together.
